Chalet Bijouli, Wengwald is a deluxe privately owned terraced chalet situated at 1200 metres, on a sunny southerly plateau 12 minutes walk from the resort of Wengen. The chalet is 250m from Wengwald train station, with frequent mountain ski trains (2 up and 2 down an hour) to Wengen centre (for the Mannlichen chair) Kleine Scheidegg (for the Lauberhorn runs) and Lauterbrunnen from where you can catch direct connections to Zurich or Geneva airports
Four star accomodation as certified by Swiss tourist board comprises:
Master bedroom with ensuite, equipped with a 'jacuzzi' bath and hand shower.
Two further double bedrooms with washing facilities and a separate luxury shower room with w/c.
Fully fitted kitchen including granite worktops, dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge. Separate dining room. Ski locker in cellar.
Double height sitting room with log burner and antique stove. There is cable and satellite (Sky) television, DVD/VHS player and Wifi. The sitting room, dining area and master bedroom all access the sun terrace with wonderful panoramic views of the Jungfrau, Breithorn and the famous waterfalls of Lauterbrunnen. .
The chalet is looked after by Kathleen Bruno who lives in Wengen and can help with extra cleaning and other matters, if required. There is also a great tourist office in Wengen.
In Wengen you will find everything you need, shops (some deliver) hotels with sports facilities, bars, restaurants, sports shops with hire facilities and several ski schools. There is a nursery slope, ice rink, creche and play facilities. In the centre of the village there is the cable car to Mannlichen with its miles of pistes where, whatever your level, you can ski, board, toboggan, hike or just lie in the sun with a glass or two and enjoy the ambiance!
Please be aware that this is a car free resort so you must leave your car in Lauterbrunnen car park and use the mountain railway to reach Wengen.
